With your help, we hope to make this holiday season merrier for people in our community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Water Tower x Meals on Wheels x You<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Our push to feed people in need around Lethbridge ends with Meals on Wheels volunteers delivering food, but it starts with <em>you<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When you <a href=\"https:\/\/www.qooway.com\/olo\/en?WaterTowerLethbridge\"><strong>buy a gift card<\/strong><\/a> worth $20 or more (for a friend, a client, an employee &#8211; or just for you!) we are pledging to pay it forward by sponsoring one Meals on Wheels meal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Over the course of this month, and with your help, we hope to sponsor 2000 meals \u2013 giving those most vulnerable (like those who don\u2019t have the ability to shop, cook on their own, or have someone close who can help) a hot meal they can enjoy during these cold, Lethbridge winter days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.qooway.com\/olo\/en?WaterTowerLethbridge\"><strong>Purchase a gift card here!<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Who is Meals on Wheels?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Meals on Wheels is a charity organization that brings hot meals to those who can\u2019t cook for themselves.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This can include people who are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Elderly<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Injured<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Disabled<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The volunteers at Meals on Wheels prepare food throughout the year, then deliver it to these folks&#8217; doorsteps. While the food they prepare and deliver is important, especially for those who would go hungry otherwise, it\u2019s not the only thing they deliver. For many who receive meals, human connection is just as important.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Many who sign up for Meals on Wheels are not able to easily leave their home, whether because of physical or mental issues. This leaves them cooped up inside, all alone.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Because they deliver door to door, Meals on Wheels volunteers are just as often delivering the joy of human connection, which is doubly important during the holiday season \u2013 and especially this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This double-benefit to those who often can\u2019t leave their home on their own is why The Water Tower has chosen to support their organization this holiday season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For more information on Meals on Wheels, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mealsonwheelslethbridge.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">visit their website<\/a>!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Support local<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The support the Lethbridge community has shown us from the very beginning and through this pandemic has been heartwarming. It\u2019s kept our doors open, and our staff busy at work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For that, we\u2019ll be forever thankful!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But, at the Water Tower #supportlocal means more than shopping in the city. We believe that in this time of need it\u2019s important for us as a business to support <em>our<\/em> local community as well. That\u2019s why we\u2019re taking this step.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is the amazing part of supporting local.
